Horses in Training - Older Horses
Montecristo
19 br g Warning - Sutosky
(Mr Rae Guest)
A stable favourite, he was the winner of 18 races from a mile and a half plus and is now one of the stable hacks. He used to excel at tracks like Brighton and Epsom and is a real character.
Present Generation
20 ch g Cadeaux Genereux - Penny Mint
(Mr Rae Guest)
'PG' is the other stable hack and has been with Rae since he was a yearling. He showed a lot of speed and won two races but suffered from broken blood vessels and was retired. He does a great job training the youngsters both equine and human.
Mirza
5 b c Oasis Dream - Millyant (Primo Dominie)
(Mr Chris Mills)
This bonny compact colt was retained by his breeder Chris Mills and is aspiring to reach the levels of achievement of his celebrated dam, the multiple Group and Listed winner, Millyant. He has become a real character and yard favourite and seems to remain as good as ever at the age of 5, winning first time out in 2012 over five furlongs at Newbury.
Albany Rose
4 b f Noverre - Teide Lady (Nashwan)
(Eamonn Duggan)
This compact filly is by Noverre, a stallion that Rae likes (sire of dual winner Bohobe last year) out of Teide Lady, a winner for the yard in 2006. Her dam Oshiponga is the dam of Newmarket Group 2 winner Hatta Fort. Like a good first foal, she won at two in December and has gone on and won three times in 2011, getting better and better as the year went on.
Border Abby
4 ch f Selkirk - Perfect Solution (Entrepreneur)
(The Perfect Partnership, Beadle, Davies and Jennings)
This filly is by proven Group 1 producing sire Selkirk and is typically flashy but thankfully not too big. She is the first foal of her winning dam from the family of multiple Group winner Nayyir and Highest (rated 115) and Shamila (rated 100), both also by Selkirk. Her great asset as a racehorse is that she is a real trier and she was a winner for the yard in 2011.
First Class
4 b c Oasis Dream - Break Point (Reference Point)
(Brian and Elaine Cooper)
This attractive colt by top sire Oasis Dream has been homebred by owners Brian and Elaine Cooper and is a half brother to the speedy Daniella, a three time winner for the yard in 2005/2006, including a Listed third. A winner in the January of his four year old career, he is just starting to grow into his size and strength. For all that he is lazy he is quite a fast horse.
Flynn's Boy
4 ch g Tobougg - Bukhoor (Danehill)
(Colin Murfitt)
A nice kind horse who is a half brother to his owner's Rescent and black type scorer Hawfinch. He was a revelation in 2011, winning his first two starts and suggesting that he could go on to achieve more. Could easily be fast enough for 6 furlongs although he is a laid back horse.
Rose of Sarratt
4 b f Sadler's Wells - Sweet Gypsy Rose (Darshaan)
(Mr Eamonn Duggan)
This quality filly is from the last crop of sire of the decade Sadler's Wells, out of a Darshaan mare, so bred on an established and very successful cross. Her dam was a winner at two out of 7 furlong Group 3 and Listed winner Kincara Palace from a family which has been owned at times by the Aga Khan, tracing back to champion Timarida. A winner at Redcar on 1 November 2011.
