Archduchess off the mark

After what seems like a multitude of seconds for the yard, including Archduchess last time out, Kirsten Rausing's Archipenko filly got off the mark at Beverley this afternoon with an excellently timed ride by Silvestre De Sousa.

Archduchess was always up with the pace, sitting second pretty much throughout before making her challenge over two furlongs out and asserting a little over one furlong out and was always holding any challengers a shade comfortably.  Being related to previous stable star My Emma she was always going to have stamina in her pedigree.

Congratulations must go to Ms Kirsten Rausing who is both owner and breeder having bred her locally at her Lanwades Stud.  Congratulations also to Ali who looks after her and Hollie who rides her most days.
