Silversmith goes for Gold

Silversmith, a grey gelding by Mastercraftsman owned by Emma O'Gorman, famous for her breeze-up operation at Seven Springs here in Newmarket got off the mark at the second attempt at the newly opened Chelmsford City racecourse yesterday.  He had ran very respectably on his debut just nine days previously, finishing second to the mid-seventy rated Virtual Reality.

At Chelmsford yesterday Silversmith was fast out of the stalls, making all and staying on well in the closing furlongs despite being put under pressure from several rivals.  He eventually held on to win by a neck and shake off his maiden tag. It was a positive and strong ride by regular Jockey Chris Catlin.  Congratulations to Emma and Armando who own Silversmith and share in the riding of him!

That was our first winner at Chelmsford City and hopefully the first of many.
