Busy times

It has been a busy few weeks here at Chestnut Tree Stables. We are now in the middle of the season and as well as racing we have had plenty going on.

We welcomed two visitor groups to the yard on two consecutive weekends. The first of these were City Saddles, a networking group of London professionals with an interest in all things equine. The following weekend we hosted Discover Newmarket for a tour of the yard. These tours provide members of the public with a real insight into a working racing yard and to see the horses up close. With Covid restrictions starting to ease it was lovely to see them again after a lengthy abscence.

Last week saw the July Horses in Training Sale take place at Tattersalls here in Newmarket. Rae attended every day and now we have two new horses in the yard. Our longstanding owner Mr Derek Willis purchased Electrifying, a winner of two races in France. She is a pretty three year old grey filly by Dark Angel and he is delighted with her. The Good Reason Partners bought Evening Song, a bay three year old daughter of Twilight Son who is also a winner. She is fit and ready to run so will hopefully be out in about a fortnight's time.

In other news, the Top Hat and Tails syndicate have leased the two year old filly Glittering Grace from Rae and Rachel. This daughter of the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf winner Outstrip made her debut this week and we wish them the best of luck with her.
