Arriviste returns to winning ways

It was extremely rewarding to see Kirsten Rausing's Arriviste make a return to form on Saturday at Lingfield. This four year old mare is another Lanwades homebred by the German Derby winner Sea The Moon. Rae also trained her dam Apparatchika who won two races for us back in 2015.

Last season she gave a good account of herself in Listed and Group company and therefore started this season on a mark of 97. Her first three runs this year were in Listed company but her form was not as strong as last year and so she was dropped in grade for her latter races. All of her races this season had been over 1m 2f but after her last run a discussion was had with Kirsten and a decision was made to drop her back to 7f, a distance she had won over as a two-year-old.

Lowered to an official rating of 87 she was declared for the Coral Proud to Support British Racing/Irish EBF Conditions Stakes at Lingfield on Saturday and Ryan Moore was booked for the ride. A small field of five runners went to post and she raced handily during the race. Two and a half furlongs out she was shaken up and went clear easily to go on and win by two and three-quarter lengths.

We are delighted to provide Kirsten with a second winner this year after her two-year-old Melodramatica won first time out for us back in June. Arriviste was the one hundred and eleventh winner of 2021 to be bred at Lanwades Stud so it has been a fantastic year for them which we are proud to have contributed to.
