Syvilla latest to hit the woodwork 05/06/2008

Everyone here was delighted to see Tim Cooper's hombred Nayef filly Syvilla finish an excellent second at Lingfield yesterday. Syvilla looked like a nice filly last year and Rae has been slightly mystified at her lack of gallops form and poor first run at Nottingham on firmish ground. But you can forgive them if they save their best efforts for the racecourse on the right day and Syvilla certainly came with a rare rattle at 66-1 to scare up James Fanshawe's Qui Moi and be beaten only 1/2 length. In the process she beat a number of fancied horses from the top yards so this was indeed a promising run. Well done to Tim and her main work jockey Jo Riddell. Fingers crossed that we will see her in the winners enclosure soon. Amicable Terms also finished a creditable third on her handicap bow and jockey Chris Catlin reported that she would have won at a mile.
