Filligree certainly seemed to be well placed to capitalise on her Brighton success in the last at Yarmouth today, and she and apprentice Jamie Hamblett duly ran out a facile winner by a long looking six lengths. Noel Garbutt led up his third winner in a week - trainer Stuart Williams must be sick of the sight of Noel as every time one of Noel's horses win, Stuart trains the second. Good job Stuart takes it well (!) Noel got the best turned out at Brighton for Filligree and also rides her and looks after at home, so well done him. This win means that he has drawn level with Jo Riddell on three winners in the hotly contested lads' winners competition. Many congratulations for the second time in a week to the successful owners, Tony Hirschfeld, Denise Avery and the Filligree Syndicate who should just about be over the after effects of Tony's (pre) 60th birthday party on Saturday night. That great event was attended by Dena Arstall, a part owner of Pretty Officer (who ran a lot better on Sunday at Salisbury). Dena too had a winner today when Missoula, bred and now part owned by her, won at Royal Ascot today, so well done to you, Dena. |
