It is most encouraging to see the horses continue to run well and long may it last -it seems ungrateful to complain, but seconditis is a highly annoying affliction for a racehorse trainer! Of the yard's last six runners only one was out of the first three, with great runs (and not the best of rides) for Dancing Jest (2nd) and Amicable Terms (3rd) last week; and neck defeats when lengths clear for Pretty Officer and Syvilla yesterday and today. Still we would be delighted if Si Belle could be placed in a Listed race at Newmarket on Thursday to gain valuable black type and it really is fabulous to see the fillies start blooming this time of the year. |
