Lucky Leon strikes again 14/07/2008

Leon Vaessen's Lady Carollina was the latest to double up on Saturday with a second win at Nottingham. She was favourite this time and although Rae wasn't able to see it (en route from Dublin airport) assistant Emma-Jane Jenkins was doing the saddling duties and reported that Lady Carollina had behaved herself beautifully and despite encountering traffic problems had won well by a head. Hopefully she will come out of this race as well as she did her first and Rae will be able to turn her out again soon. Well done to Leon, Lynn and all her other owners as well as Farman Ali who was doing his third winner of the year. Unfortunately the rest of the weekend was not such a great success despite our best efforts. Rosa Grace and Bahia Breeze travelled together to the Curragh via an overnight stay at Chester and that seemed to help them both but unfortunately Rosa did not run up to form. Bahia Breeze on the other hand ran a great race getting left in front far too soon when a loose horse took away her lead, but it was nice to see her start to run well again. They have both arrived back safely this afternoon. Rae and Rachel got back in time to see Zelos Girl, the yard's first two year old, run an excellent first race to finish third at Windsor. Very promising.
