Serious Attitude was another who did not catch the pundit's eyes at the sales, but she has been catching pigeons on the gallops and so did not go unsupported when she went to post at Windsor yesterday under the promising 5lb claiming apprentice David Probert. She showed her inexperience a little in the preliminaries but once the race began she settled between horses coming with a ready run to win, with the minimum of fuss, by five lengths. Owner Derek Willis of the Purple and Yellow partnership 1 was so nervous that he thought his legs would not hold him up. Since he also has a share in Bahia Breeze, Derek has had more than enough excitement for the weekend. The present plan with Serious Attitude is to aim for the Tattersalls October sales race on 2 October possibly by way of a nursery in between. Unfortunately Syvilla still found another one too good in the maiden but it was another good run nonetheless. All the runners are back safely with the exception of Si Belle who is still in transit and expected back this evening. Sam Davis looks after three of the horses running this weekend (Si Belle, Bahia Breeze and Serious Attitude) and it is a credit to him that they have all run so well. |
