After the storm 04/10/2008

It has been a quiet day today with intended runner Jeninsky being withdrawn at Newmarket, and Rae is gradually getting used to the idea that he has one of the leading two year old fillies of her generation in his care, Serious Attitude, the winner yesterday of the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket. She is sound and happy this morning and ate up last night despite having the first real race of her life yesterday afternoon. Community spirit is not necessarily the first thing you think of between the 62 competing trainers in Newmarket but it has been most gratifying to receive so many emails, faxes, calls, text messages of congratulations and have so many people wanting to shake Rae's hand (thank you everyone). As he says "This is what you get up in the morning for..". It really is. Business as usual will be resumed tomorrow when Rae begins looking for the next one at Tattersalls October 1 sale, where showing begins tomorrow. You never know where the next one is coming from and it could just be you the next time!
