You've got to be in it to win it. The yard's five to follow competition closes on Friday 27th March 2009, the day before the first day of the turf flat season. Everyone on the yard database should be receiving an application form with rules and a list of all horses in training in the next few days. If you have not had one please contact the office on 01638 661508. Simply pick three older horses and two 2 year olds and follow them through the year. The competition costs £5.00 to enter and prizes are handed out at Christmas. Points are based on winners and placed horses whatever the grade of races. Last year's winner was work rider Karl Pierrepont's partner Ellie Stirk, followed by owner Leon Vaessen and travelling head lad Andrew Bubb so last year insider dealing meant something. Not so every year by any stretch of the imagination, and with more horses than ever this year who knows who may come away with the money! Like they say, you gotta be in it to win it! |
