Tomorrow sees final declarations for the 1,000 Guineas before 10am, so we shall know for sure how many opponents Serious Attitude will have on Sunday at 3.15. There was a forfeit earlier in the week which left 20 in, the most conspicuous absentee being Luca Cumani's Fantasia who will go for the French Guineas instead. The ground is pretty fast at Newmarket so they have been watering to keep it on the fast side of good. We are expecting a busy weekend with so many owners, friends and associates coming to support Serious Attitude, Derek, Rae and the whole yard on the big day. Look East were here this morning doing a piece on Serious Attitude for local TV (due to go out tomorrow evening) as part of the build up for the Stan James Guineas festival and there will be feature on her in the racecard. Peter Thomas is coming on Saturday to do the last of his features on her preparation for publication in Sunday's Racing Post. The main attraction herself is taking it in her stride and her preparation is now very nearly complete, whether she knows it or not. It is all very exciting indeed. |
