Rae's apprentice Noel Garbutt rode his first winner today on The Tremousser partnership's Bohobe, who was having her third run for the yard. Noel, who is the nephew of Peter Brette (former yard apprentice and top Dubai jockey, most lately work rider of the ill fated Barbaro) has had just five rides, finishing second twice before today and he gave Bohobe an admirable ride in a hands and heels contest at Salisbury to score by a neck. It was good to see Bohobe return to form and many thanks to principal owners Ian Booth, Mike Beadle and Roger Jennings for giving Noel (weighs in at 6 st 10 lb apparently) the opportunity to ride their filly. Also well done to Alex who looks after her and co-incidentally also looked after her at two when with her original trainer, James Given. |
