It was a red letter day yesterday when two of our three runners found the winning thread at Newcastle and the third, Gaselee, ran a very creditable fourth in a competitive race at Nottingham. Both sprinters, Midnight Fantasy and Corton Charlemagne, ran great races and have really come to themselves this year. Midnight would have liked more cut and still had a lot to do a furlong out on her unfavoured ground, but she set about her task admirably to score by 1/2 length. Corton Charlemagne's progress was rather smoother but she scored by the same margin under apprentice Frederik Tylicki. Really well done to both horses and connections. |
