You might not have heard too much about Zelos Diktator in despatches, the reason being that he has been in the yard less than two months, having arrived from James Given's in a swap with Zelos Girl who needed a change of scenery. His first run for the yard was hardly the most promising, being last at Newmarket, but he actually ran well that day on unsuitably fast ground. He showed today that he had come on for that run and improved under an inspired ride from Martin Lane (5) (his first for the yard) when making all in a mile and a half maiden at Newcastle today. His jockey reported that he enjoyed the soft ground and will make an excellent jumping prospect. Since he is in the sales at Newmarket shortly, he ought to be an attractive prospect for the jump boys. Well done Zelos Diktator, Alex who looks after him and his owners the Tremousser partnership, also the owners of the dual winner Bohobe. |
