19 year old Sam Davis, whose day job includes looking after stable star Serious Attitude, will today go before the judges in the Godolphin sponsored Stable and Stud Staff 2010 awards in the running to carry off the prestigious David Nicholson Newcomer Award for stud or stable staff who have spent less than five years in the racing industry. Rae has nominated Sam but he goes with the backing of the whole yard, including head lad John Wilsoncroft (runner up in the inaugural Awards) and assistant Emma-Jane Jenkins. Sam meets the judges today, then stays overnight in a London hotel where the outcome will be revealed at the Awards ceremony tomorrow lunchtime. Good luck Sam. |
