Yard apprentice Noel Garbutt claiming 7 rode his third winner at Newmarket's July course this evening on Eamonn Duggan's Lastroseofsummer. A Haafhd filly, she was not winning out of turn after a third 9 days ago, and benefited from a confident and prominent ride from Noel. Well done Eamonn and Noel. Meanwhile... At Royal Ascot Serious Attitude ran a great race in probably the best sprint race run in the world this year (I mean it, look at the runners). Although she was not placed she was about third on the unfavoured far side, not all that far behind last year's July Cup winner, Fleeting Spirit, having made up a lot of ground in the final two furlongs. Apart from the fact that it was absolutely freezing at Ascot a good day was had by all. |
