Chrome Update - 2nd May

California Chrome has had a fairly routine week this week with plenty of cantering using Newmarket’s extensive turf and all-weather canters.

The town has been abuzz with all of the build up to the 2000 Guineas staged today, and the 1000 Guineas tomorrow.  They are the first two classic races of the season, ran over a straight mile at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse, less than a mile from our stables. You can see the famous grandstand in the background behind Chrome (right).

Elsewhere today, Miss Buckshot runs at Goodwood in the EBF Conqueror Stakes, a Listed race over a mile. Miss Buckshot has been a consistent horse for us over the winter and deserves to take her place in the field.  

Hopefully she can run into a place and gain a bit of black-type to enhance her pedigree when she finally goes off to stud.
